Representatives of OJSC "Samara Region Development Corporation" participated in the International Investment Forum "Sochi-2016"

From the 29th of September to the 2nd of October the XV Jubilee International Investment Forum "Sochi-2016" took place in the Main Media Center of Sochi’s Olympic Park.
Forum "Sochi" is a traditional area for the presentation of the investment and economic potential of Russia, regional aspects of the global economy, for increase of cooperation between international and Russian business representatives, experts and the media community delegates.
The combination of the business program and the exhibition allow to discuss the key issues of business activity and attracting of investments for regions, to find effective economic solutions for specific industries, companies and projects, to establish mutually beneficial commercial and scientific contacts.
Prime Minister of the Russian Federation D.A. Medvedev took part in this Forum. Business program opened on the 30th of September by the plenary session with the speech of the Head of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev devoted to the plans of economic development of the country. Developing the key theme of the Forum "A new quality of public administration," the Prime Minister said: "Today in Russia there is a request for a real change in the economic and social environments, and the authorities have to answer this request and, wherever possible, the response should be both quick and effective. All these issues require a completely different approach, as they say now, the project approach, which is, first of all, focused on efficiency".
Head of the Government participated in the round table "New business in Russia - realized opportunities". Addressing to the representatives of business community, Medvedev said: "Dear colleagues, friends! I would like to express my admiration that even during rather difficult economic conditions you, nevertheless, create new businesses, open new projects, implement new start-ups".
At a special presidium of the Council for the strategic development and priority projects with the participation of governors, the head of Government, Dmitry Medvedev stated about the modernization of the system of subsidies for regions from the federal budget. According to the Prime Minister statements, the budget will support the poorest regions, but the subsidies system will be modernized.
During numerous events of panel sessions, round tables, check-up and foresight sessions, participants discussed the best management practices, implementation and impact of new technologies on business development, reform of the regulatory bodies, measures for the development of the economic opportunities of Russian regions, as well as methods of state support.
There were business meetings with the Chairman of Vnesheconombank S.N. Gorkov and the representatives of Decathlon. Moreover, it was taken an active part in the panel discussion "Development institutions – search for effective models at the regional level" and session of the regional development institutions.
Besides, on the 30th of September there was signed an agreement between the Samara region, Sberbank and OAO "AvtoVAZ". It aims to establish the general principles for cooperation in the sphere of social and economic development of the region and employment of its population, reported the press-center of AvtoVAZ. The agreement was concluded for 3-year period with the possibility of automatic renewal.
For the Samara Region the agreement provides new prospects for the development and creation of jobs and for the Sberbank it will allow to offer customers the best service of remote maintenance. For AvtoVAZ it will help to use its resources effectively. Untapped car factory buildings will be used for the creation of Sberbank’s corporate decision-making Center. As a result it is planned the creation of more than 1.2 thsd. of new jobs.
