New passenger terminal of Kurumoch airport handled the first test flight

On December 28, 2014 Kurumoch International Airport handled the first test flight of regular airlines in the new passenger terminal. At 10.25 the airport received the Moscow flight of “Siberia” (S7) airlines. The aircraft was parked at the loading bridge and the passengers went through the new gallery of the second floor to the spacious baggage reclaim area on the first floor. In the nearest future the new terminal will continue to receive the flights of domestic airlines in test mode. This will allow practising in carrying out the procedures for serving passengers, baggage and aircrafts, to improve cooperation between operating services prior to the transferring of all flights to the new terminal.

One week ago the new terminal was already tested by volunteers: operating services of the airport polished their basic technological processes such as check-in, handling of the baggage of arriving and departing passengers, inspection. About 700 residents of the Samara region took part in tests.

Construction of the new air-terminal complex began in July, 2013. Total area of the passenger terminal is 42.7 thousand sq.m, capacity of the airport – 3.5 million passengers per year. The terminal is equipped with 7 boarding bridges (2 of which are doubled), 24 check-in counters, 4 baggage carousels (2 in arrival hall for domestic flights and 2 in arrival hall for international flights). Renovated infrastructure of air-terminal complex includes the system of parking lots almost for almost 1500 parking spaces. Currently tenants are finishing decoration of shops and restaurants in the building of the new terminal and finishing works in departure halls on the third floor are coming to an end.

It is planned to transfer all flights to the regular handling in the new terminal at the beginning of 2015.
