Samara Region Development Corporation took part in XIII International Investment Forum “Sochi-2014”

Forum was held from 18 till 21 of September, 2014. The Samara region was represented by temporary acting Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Samara region – Head of the Samara region Government representative office under the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Eremin, Head of Samara urban district Dmitry Azarov, Deputy Minister of economic development, investments and trade of the Samara region – Head of department of investment policy and investment programs Oleg Mayorov.
Plenary meeting “Russia between Europe and Asia: the new regional policy under the modern conditions” with participation of Dmitry Medvedev became the main event of the forum. The new regional policy in the modern world and investment climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation was a topic of Forum. Among the main issues of this year were the development of economy and social area of the regions, transport infrastructure and regional aviation, energy industry and energy-saving technologies, housing construction and housing and utility sector, private public partnership, support of agriculture, national producers and promotion of their products. Under the terms of imposed economic sanctions, governmental authorities are ready to support business on their activities for replacing foreign supplies with Russian products.
All in all 6 round tables, 24 panel discussions, 4 master classes as well as thematic briefings and seminars were held within the business program of the Forum.
A great interest among the participants was generated by the business breakfast of Sberbank; President, Chairman of the Board of “Sberbank of Russia” OJSC German Gref was a moderator of this breakfast. Ways of stimulating the economy in conditions of difficult geopolitical situation in the world were discussed during the event.
Russian companies and regions interested in implementation of the investments project and having the possibilities to start searching the potential business partners were widely presented at Forum’s exposition.
