Samara region ranked number two in Russian PPP rating

Regional Ministry of Economic Development informed that Samara region ranked number two in federal Public-Private Partnership (PPP) rating.

The results were announced at the fourth Infrastructural Congress ‘Russian week of PPP’ in Moscow on the 28th of March.

The main event of PPP Week is the presentation of the rating of Russian regions in accordance with the level of PPP development, which is determined by one of the indicators for assessing the effectiveness of investment activity of Russian regional governors.

In accordance with cooperation agreement between the government of the Samara region and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for Promotion of Projects (ASI) since January of 2016, the rating of PPP is an integral part of the National rating of the investment climate conditions in the regions of the Russian Federation.

Based on the results of 2016 Samara region went up its rank in the rating of PPP. Moscow is number one and Samara and Moscow regions are number two. Currently, the level of PPP development is 82.7% in the region.

Currently, the regional government of the Samara region works with forty PPP projects amounting to 100 billion of Russian Roubles. Besides, two projects in the fields of health and sport (dialysis center in Syzran and table tennis club in Samara) have already been implemented with the amount of attracted investments amounting to 260 million of Russian Roubles.

It is continuing the implementation of 16 projects amounting to about 10 billion Russian Roubles of extrabudgetary funds. The fields of investments are modernization of the healthcare system, development of sport, transport infrastructure and tourism.

Moreover, two projects of health sector amounting to 425 million of Russian Roubles are at the stage of competitive procedures (reconstruction and operation of power facilities and modernization of initial vascular department in Samara).

The number of concession agreements in municipal entities is increasing. The investments are aimed to modernize the facilities of communal infrastructure and social and cultural ones. It is already implemented 22 projects are implemented amounting to more than 2 billion of Russian Roubles of attracted investments.
