Press-conference on implementation of the project on Kurumoch International Airport development took place

Joint conference dedicated to implementation of the one of the most important investment projects of the region was held in the building of the Government of the Samara region. Minister of Transport and Highways of the Samara region I.I.Pivkin, General Director of “Samara Region Development Corporation” OJSC O.A. Serova and Head of Management Company “Aeroporty Regionov” E.A. Chudnovsky took part in the event.
Press-conference was opened by Minister of Transport and Highways I.I. Pivkin who noted: “In the light of holding FIFA World Cup 2018 in the Samara region, we must receive the new air terminal complex with modern access roads and operating as a multimodal transfer hub prior to this event”.
Implementation of the project on construction of the new terminal is carried out as per schedule. Currently ,design stage is coming to an end, by the end of December design documentation will have been passed to General Board of State Expert Review. New terminal with total area of 40 thousand sq.m will have a capacity of 3.5 million passengers per year, have a high level of comfort and comply with all international requirements. According to the participants of the press-conference, it will be one of the best terminal complexes in Russia.
“New air terminal complex must comply with the best world standards, the most modern requirements, level of safety, comfort and quality, - pointed out O.A. Serova, General Director of “Samara Region Development Corporation” OJSC. – It was one of the main conditions for selection of investor. Now we face the challenge of constructing the new passenger terminal by the end of 2014 – the goal is ambitious, quite difficult but possible”.
Head of Management Company “Aeroporty Regionov” E.A. Chudnovsky noted that all scheduled works are being performed as planned. New passenger terminal in Samara, according to him, will become a unique not only in terms of its architecture but also in terms of technological infrastructure and comfortability for passengers. “It’ll be the best terminal complex in Russia, - emphasized E.A. Chudnovsky. – We have a great experience in construction and operation of airport complexes. We have successfully implemented the project on construction of a new passenger terminal in airport “Koltsovo and we start constructing airport infrastructure in the airport of Nizhny Novgorod. It goes without saying that we will use all our experience in construction of a new air-terminal complex in Samara. Today Samara project is of top-priority for us”.
Participants of press-conference answered numerous questions from the members of Samara media. Demonstration of an architectural model of a new passenger terminal generated a vivid interest among the members of the media.
