Two stages of testing of the new passenger terminal of Kurumoch International Airport are finished. On Friday, December 19, about 80 people took part in the first testing, and last Sunday, December 21, more than 500 residents of the Samara region became voluntary helpers. Totally, more than 800 volunteers filed the applications for participation in testing.

During two weeks workers of operating services of the airport with the assistance of volunteers tested all technological processes and new equipment.

Volunteers worked under the general scenario – the passenger should come to the terminal building with the baggage, get through the inspection, check-in for the flight, check in luggage and go to the third floor for preflight inspection. Some volunteers had another scenario: one should try to enter the building with weapon, another – to carry prohibited items, and the third – to start suddenly suffering from health problems. Employees of the airport shall practice their actions in all standard and emergency situations. Moreover, the new terminal is going to be tested in the mode of peak load.

Visitors of the airport will be able to check-in at 24 counters that are located on the first floor of the airport. Boarding of passengers will be executed through 7 boarding bridges. Currently some finishing works are still in progress in the new terminal. Some of domestic flights are scheduled to be transferred to the new terminal at the end of December, 2014.

Official opening will take place at the beginning of 2015.
