Samara Region Development Corporation took part in seminar “Forms of state participation in funding concession projects and other PPP projects”

Representatives of Samara Region Development Corporation took part in Russian week of PPP, organized by PPP Development Center together with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in association with the Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation.

Aim of holding Week of PPP is to outspread the best practices of PPP projects implementation in order to increase the living standards of Russian Federation citizens. In Russia, just as throughout the civilized world, one of the most important social and economic issues is the need for development of the cities and regions infrastructure connected with the limitedness of budget investments. PPP mechanism shall be considered as one of the most effective tools of increasing the effectiveness of state investments by means of attracting the capital and managerial experience of private sector. Despite all advantages of PPP mechanism ,there are some significant obstacles in the process of its implementation in Russia today.

Issues on relationships between governmental authorities and business, establishing special structures which employees will have necessary skills and experience, structuring and popularization of available information about the process of infrastructure projects implementation based on PPP principles were in agenda of PPP week.

Along with the discussion of topics presented by speakers, the program of Forum also included expert sessions and round tables on discussion of general ways of sector development.

More than 500 people took part in the event. Among them were representatives of federal and regional governmental authorities, large Russian and foreign business-structures in different professional areas.
